Our rehab season is starting to wind down, but we always have a need for donations of food and towels/blankets for the animals we care for in the Fall!
- The squirrels we have are getting older and getting ready to be released. Thank you to all of you who recently donated nuts as one of their natural food sources.
This time of year, we also get injured birds, who are hurt during migration. If you can put the bird in a box, give us a call and we'll see what we can do to help.

All of the donations are used to care for the animals - food, vet care and caging supplies.
We recently received several donations of fur coats - the animals love these to snuggle in during the Fall months while they are still in rehab. If you are cleaning out some closets, please consider donating - give us a call!

What is Wildlife Rescue Team, Inc. ?Created in 1979, Wildlife Rescue Team, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer-based organization dedicated to the raising and rehabilitating of orphaned and injured wildlife from the state of Nebraska, with the goal being to release them back into the wild.

Our volunteers are available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, including holidays. The Hotline Number is a 24 hour answering service available for after hours, to take messages. There are some volunteers that are available for after-hours calls, depending on the type of animal.
Please call the Hotline if you have questions about a wild animal, need assistance with an injured or orphaned animal or you would like more information on becoming a member of WRT! Our monthly meetings take place every second Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church at 2225 Washington Street in Lincoln. 7 p.m.
During the spring and summer months our volunteers are very busy with animal care. If you can transport the animal to a WRT member, it would be very helpful and much appreciated. The on-call person can direct you to the closest WRT volunteer available based on your location. |

Working under state and federal permits, Wildlife Rescue Team, Inc. is a non-profit, independent, all volunteer-based organization dedicated to raising and rehabilitating Nebraska's orphaned and injured wildlife for the eventual release back into their natural habitat. Wildlife Rescue Team, Inc. operates with no federal, state or city funding, but depends totally upon private contributions, membership fees and donations of supplies and services. No salaries are paid to any member of WRT.
