Get ready for Memorial Day Weekend
Save your TerraCycle-able products
As you are dusting off the grill, have you discovered that something has taken up residence inside? If you find a bird nest in your grill, and there are no eggs or babies in it, feel free to remove the nest and clean your grill out. If there are eggs or babies in the nest, please call WRT for advice.
If you are getting your boat ready to go out on the lake over the holiday weekend and discover that a raccoon has decided to use your boat as her home, please give WRT a call. We can assist you in deciding the best solution for these issues.
When you are shopping for your holiday picnics, please keep in mind that you can save product packaging and send it to WRT so that we can recycle it through the TerraCycle program. The money that WRT receives for this recycling effort helps us to purchase food and supplies for the animals that we rehabilitate.
Have a save and wonderful weekend!
All On-Call volunteers are available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, including all holidays. The Hotline Number is a 24 hour answering service available for after hours, to take messages. There are some volunteers that are available for after-hours care, depending on the type of animal.
During the spring and summer months our volunteers are very busy with animal care. If there is any way you can transport the animal to a WRT member, it would be very helpful and much appreciated. The on-call person can direct you to the closest WRT volunteer available based on your location.
If you have any questions or concerns about injured or orphaned wildlife, please call the Hotline at (402) 473-1951.
